Heaven welcomed a hero of faith as Bob Tebow, father of former NFL quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow, passed away at the age of 78. Bob had been living with Parkinson’s disease since his diagnosis was made public in 2016.
Tim shared the news on social media with a heartfelt and faith-filled message. “Heaven ushered in a hero of the faith last night as my Dad was welcomed home!” he wrote, adding that rather than mourning a loss, his family finds comfort in knowing exactly where Bob is. Tim recalled asking his father what he most anticipated about heaven, to which Bob simply replied, “Jesus.” Tim closed his tribute with hopeful words rooted in his belief: “Death has been swallowed up in victory. He’s healed and whole now.”

When Bob’s Parkinson’s diagnosis became public back in 2016, Tim shared that the news reshaped his priorities and motivated him to dedicate more time to being present with his father.
Tributes poured in quickly from fans and fellow athletes alike. Former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III offered prayers for the family, while countless supporters shared messages of comfort and admiration for Tim’s faith-driven perspective on his father’s passing.
Tim’s wife, Demi, also honored her father-in-law through a separate Instagram post. She reflected on the version of Bob she was privileged to know — a gentle grandfather who had a soft spot for ice cream, laughter, and dogs. “I am grateful for the man who raised the love of my life,” she wrote, describing Bob as someone who shaped Tim into a man who is strong yet humble, courageous yet kind, and deeply devoted to both God and people.
